Tamil New Year's Day

This was again written due to popular demand. After we had a nice time enjoying the Tamil New Year's Day with all our passed out seniors, they requested me to put it in black and white. This resulted when I attempted to add some colour to it -:)

TAMIL NEW YEAR'S DAY

Tamil New Year's Day
Stuck as hard as clay
In everybody's heart
I was mistaken in thinking that I would depart

Alone to Serangoon yesterday
But I was proved to be at bay
By the people present that day
Who were in the fray

To be the center of attraction
For the night which was an elation
To one and all present
In the temple under the crescent

Of the shining moon
Which may have given a boon
For the evening to be wonderful
And tasteful

For each and every guy
Forgot that they had to buy
From Mustafa Centre
And succumbed to the tender

Taste of hot dosas
And noodles with sauce
Seeing the gorgeous,
Dance atrocious,

In the green
TV screen
Which didn't distract
Me from thinking abstract

To create a four line stanza
To add to the extravaganza
Of enjoying the birth of the Vikrama year
Glad to hear

That whatever they think
Will materialise even before they can wink
So, with full heartedness
They recalled the happiness

Of their college days
"They" being those who receive handsome pays
With everyone else laughing
And whiling

Away their time
Until the clock chime
Ten
When

Suddenly Vinod, the lab soup
Got as tensed and hot as his cup of soup
And screamed "CHALO"
As a sudden halo

Descended behind his head
Aiding him realise that everyone had himself fed
And ready to go to their bed
But that he didnt buy what he intended

And so we five
Including RK,Vadai and Amit
Were as active as a bee hive
While amit took the opportunity to admit

That he had to consult a doctor
Due to the noise factor
Of RK's spendid shout
As if he was about

To kill anyone in sight
Which made everyone of us laugh despite
Which made a young lady turn back
Taken aback

By the uncivilised moron
Who usually is as soft as boron.
This funny part
Made our hearts almost burst apart.

Taking this opportunity, Vadai
Looked at a roadside "kadai"
And admired a woman's "sundi"
Not even hidden by an undy.

I couldn't imagine such a sage
Could admire such a magazine cover page
Which induced a rage
In me but noticed that his age

Was the source of the error
Of adoring the figure
This interruption
Caused a disruption

In our race
At a fast pace
The effect being our disgrace
In the face

Of the mustafa center watchman
Who was quick to ban
Entry into the shop
But he couldn't stop

The fierce RK - the king
Of barking
And making
Me stand in the baggage parking

Place, raced,
Red faced
And returned with the food packets
And some sachets

As did Vinod
Who gave the nod
To leave in peace
To NTU for all to rest at ease.

But he dragged me along
With a long
Debate on groupism
As opposed to individualism.

In effect,I almost missed
The p*ssed
RK and Amit
Who asked me to add a bit

Of sleaze
About him as I please
In this piece
And I said OK for a small fees

Which was him accepting me as a roomate
But he thought his fate
For one whole year
Was more important than a dear

Which infused a fear
Stronger than a mug of beer
And so as it stands
If my demands

Are met before today night
I will include it in my next write.
This piece, I dedicate
At a rebate

To my beloved senior
Who was the premier
Cause for this article and seems to be a fan (crazy???)
Of mine by the name Madhavan.
