The Count of Life

The Count of Life

The first ten years are full of nice things, lovely memories, frolic and fun
And the next ten races past, when the responsibilities have hardly begun
The twenties are spent in looking at/for girls and trying to focus your gun
While the next ten are meant for bringing up your daughter and son
The forties make you experienced on how hard it is to earn your bun
Although the fifties seem like your life is wrecking havoc and has suddenly spun
The sixties are spent in reconciling to the fact that you are a setting sun
And the seventies are spent in leisurely going through what you had done
The eighties are miserable as you already seem to weigh a ton
Beyond ninety, whether you like it or not, you are a burden on everyone
Though I sincerely hope everyone here lives to be a hundred-and-one!
